When their love become mature,the young man will ask his parents to invite a machmaker to make a proposal in the girl’s home. If it is permitted by the girl’s parents,there would be a ceremony which is called holding the cover lid.In this party,the girl family offer several cover lids with a bowl of meat and a bowl of eggs with eggshell. as the ceremony begins, both the girl’s parents and the boy’s parents feed each other with the meats and eggs in the bowls,and then each couple of the parents will feed the matchmaker an egg by chopsticks.it is very jollily and funy.it is very difficult to catch an egg by chopsticks, and the matchmaker have to rind the eggshell though his teeth and lips, but without hands.the surrounders laugh a lot. When this ceremony completed, the girl and the boy are engaged.

There are two bowls for each person in the ceremony,in one of which there is rice wine and the head of chichen in another.the boys will count the number of the head of chicken, if there are enough chichen head, they will take the seat,otherwise they would not join the party.
At the begaining of the party ,the boys will hide the chichen head and tease the girl as telling them the chichen are not enough.the girls have to find the chiken head or they have to drink a cup of rice wine.
The boys will pay for the dinner ,and they will collect the money and hide them ,letting the girls find it. when they finished dinner,they will sing in antiphonal style.
